To provide convenience for our patients and staff, our surgery center is located on the same floor as our main office!

Dr. Portuese performs surgery on Mondays and Thursdays in our on-site Ambulatory Surgical Center. Our office is a complete medical and surgical facility with a private and discreet out patient operative suite. The Surgery Center is certified by Medicare, which is the highest level of quality assurance available in the industry.

On the day of surgery, patients are greeted and check in at the front desk. Then, escorted by one of our highly skilled registered nurses, to the surgery center.

There, patients meet with Dr. Portuese and anesthesiologist to review medical information, and answer questions before going into surgery.

General anesthesia is used for most surgeries performed by Dr. Portuese. Board certified physician anesthesiologists, from Physicians Anesthesia Services, are hand picked by Dr. Portuese. They are present throughout the entire surgery, to monitor the anesthesia and patients safety.

After surgery, patients wake up in recovery, under the care of at least two Recovery Nurses. All of our nurses are RNs and have many years of experience with patient care. When the patient is awake, comfortable and stable, the nurses will inform their caregivers of post-operative instructions before discharge from the surgery center.

Your privacy is important and will be respected here. Discretion is used when patients are ready to leave our facility. A nurse will take the patient and caregiver to their car via private elevator.

Your next stop will be home to recover, relax and heal!

I am excited to announce that we are now offering Juvederm!

Juvederm is an FDA approved injectable gel, used to fill and smooth facial wrinkles and folds.

Injecting this filler into lines around the lips, marionette lines and nasolabial folds gives a youthful appearance instantly with minimal downtime.

Unlike other fillers, Juvederm will last up to one year with one treatment! The amount of product needed varies depending on the area treated. What is best for you will be determined at the time of your consultation.

Juvederm XC contains lidocaine which improves comfort during treatment. It’s smooth consistency is easily injected with minimal pain.

The cost for 1cc syringe of Juvederm Ultra XC is $500. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is 20% thicker and used to address deeper lines, costs $550 per 1cc syringe.

Pam and Angela are available throughout the week by appointment. Both experienced nurses are trained in Advanced Injection Techniques with Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers.

Combining Juvederm with Botox treatments will give you a smooth, natural, and rejuvenated look and make you feel that way too!

Many of you have been thinking about facial cosmetic surgery, but don’t know where to start. It may seem daunting at first, but by keeping an open mind while researching, this process can be stress free.

Choose a doctor who specializes in the procedures in which you are interested. Dr. Portuese only performs facial cosmetic surgery including; Face and Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Nasal Surgery, Blepharoplasty, Chin and Cheek Implants and Otoplasty. Dr. Portuese is a Board Certified Facial Plastic Cosmetic Surgeon.

Make an appointment for a consultation with the doctor. Some offices offer a consult with a nurse or Physician’s assistant. Dr. Portuese sees patients face to face to discuss your concerns and answer any questions you may have regarding appropriate procedures. Dr. Portuese is available by appointment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the day.

See where Dr. Portuese performs surgery. You are welcome to tour the Surgery Center after your appointment. Our office is a complete medical and surgical facility with a private and discreet outpatient operative suite.

Cost estimates and surgery quotes are also given at the time of your consultation. Prices vary depending on the procedure performed. Our patient care coordinator will spend time discussing surgery costs with you. We also offer photo-imaging on the computer for Rhinoplasty patients. This is a great tool used to show you possible results after surgery.

During this first appointment you will receive a lot of useful information. It may seem overwhelming and after leaving you find yourself thinking of questions you forgot to ask or details that aren’t clear. Don’t hesitate to call the office directly to talk with any one of our staff. Sometimes another consultation with the doctor is necessary. There is a one-time fee of $75 for your first consult, but you can certainly come in again to discuss further with Dr. Portuese.

I am not happy with my appearance, how do I know if a brow lift is the answer?

The brow lift is a great operation. It is used for patients that have low eyebrows, and it is used to soften the scowling complex. It is also used to smooth out the lines. Sometimes we are able to adjust a symmetrical eyebrow; meaning one eyebrow is higher or lower than the other is. That is a forehead lift, which is a rejuvenation procedure of the forehead and eyebrow – also known as a brow lift.

Most blepharoplasty patients are in their 40’s and 50’s and are having upper work done. They are typically looking in the mirror saying they look older than they feel, they look tired all the time, but they feel great! They are exercising, working out, playing tennis everyday, yet they look in the mirror and look quite tired. There is a disconnect between how they feel and how they look – that is where we come in. The blepharoplasty is a very common operation that is done for people when they look tired, they have excess skin touching the upper lashes or when the bags or puffiness is very prominent on the lower eyelids. That is when we decide if we want to adjust the lower, adjust the upper, or both. When we do other procedures with it, they may want to do other procedures such as a facelift or rhinoplasty, it just depends on what the patient wants to do. The benefits of an upper or lower blepharoplasty will last, typically, 10 to 15 years.

If you would like to speak with an experienced facial plastic surgeon, regarding concerns that you may have about your appearance, give us a call today. Call (206) 624-6200 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Portuese.

I’m double board certified in facial plastic sand reconstructive surgery, and ear, nose and throat, head and neck surgery. Because of the double board certification, I can extend a level of expertise, mastery and professionalism to my patients further. The three operations we do the most in our surgery center are face-lifts, eyelids and rhinoplasty. Early in my career, I sought out the best of the best surgeons doing facial cosmetic surgery. Specifically, the best surgeons in the world doing facelifts, eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty. I assisted, watched and observed these surgeries with the master surgeries and watched them perform their craft – and that is what I have brought to Seattle.

Patients are more comfortable under a general antesthia during the procedure when they are here for patient safety reasons. It is best if they are asleep under a general anesthesia than just a general sedation.

After the rejuvenation has been performed or the face/neck lift, the incisions have to be closed, so it is a combination of some very small metal clips or staples in the hair and some very fine stitching in the hair line, which is both a combination of resolvable stitches and the kind that has to be removed.

If you have further questions regarding this procedure, we have the answers that you are looking for. Contact The Seattle Facial Plastic Surgery Center today at (206) 624-6200.
