Dr Portuese is an avid salmon fisherman. He caught this 32 lb Tyee King Salmon with his father at Sund's Malcolm Island Lodge in British Columbia in the summer of 2008.

These are original wood salmon carvings that Dr. Portuese carved out of 800 year old growth cedar from naturally fallen trees from the Olympic Penninsula Washington.
Dr Portuese is working on preparing his Remote Site Salmon Incubator for a new batch of Chum Salmon Eggs that get delivered by the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group. Dr Portuese donates his spare time and serves on the Board of DIrectors of the Pacific Northwest Salmon Center in Belfair Washington.
