Mommy Makeover in Seattle WA

A mommy makeover is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of a woman’s body after they’ve had children. After pregnancy, many woman notice changes in their abdomen, hips, thighs and breasts. Their breasts may sag and lose volume. The abdomen can develop loose skin, stretch marks, and lose the flat appearance that it once had. Unfortunately, these changes often cannot be improved 100% with diet and exercise. A mommy makeover procedure addresses these changes by combining a tummy tuck and breast surgery into one procedure. This can include a breast lift, breast augmentation, or a combination of both. Some women may desire a reduction in their breast size. Liposuction of the flanks, back, and thighs can be performed if the patient desires improvement in these areas also.

Good candidates for a mommy makeover procedure are healthy women who are done having children. If breast feeding, it’s best to wait at least 3-6 months after you stop nursing. This gives the breasts time to undergo any changes that may occur prior to having surgery.

During your consultation you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your specific goals and talk about the look that you want to achieve. While at your visit Dr. Hayes will discuss the different types of abdominoplasty and breast procedures. He’ll show you where the surgical scars are placed. He’ll help you decide which procedures will help you obtain your goals. If you desire an increase in the size of your breasts, you’ll be able to try on implants. Dr. Hayes will describe the recovery process, so that you know what to expect after your mommy makeover procedure.

The procedure is performed as a same-day procedure, under general anesthesia, in a state-of-the-art Medicare certified operating room. You’re cared for by board certified physician anesthesiologists from Swedish Hospital’s anesthesia group. Most patients elect to return home with a disposable abdominal pain pump. The pump lasts for several days and helps with discomfort after surgery.
